Congrats to Kat + Raian, married December 18th, 2010.
& thanks to uyen @ sassy girl weddings for asking me to design their wedding stationery!

square pocket wedding Invitation

The full invitation suite was truly unique & colorful, incorporating navy, eggplant & fuchsia. first the save the date cards {I posted these a while ago here}. for the invites we wrapped lace, which kat picked out herself, vertically around the cover of the pocket folder. we also added embellishments like the square name tag to the front cover, and a ghosted swirl graphic on all insert cards.  paper: metallic stardream quartz + iris blue

*reception stationery: I picked up the design from the invitations for the escort & table tents, we even added the fuchsia lace to the table cards {another reason why it’s always good to purchase more yards than you need  😉  I love how all these small details bring together the colors beautifully; linens, flowers, paper & candy bar too!

[custom wedding invitation] pocket folder with lace

wedding cake & invite

Darlene, my creative ‘DIY’ friend, sent me a sample of her very unique invitation package that I assisted her with (providing the digital design PDFs ready to print). Check out her invites along with a few of her personal notes below:

“I bought the lace in bulk {as I did for my wedding save the dates}. I then cut each piece of lace to size, wrapping it around the pocket enclosure flap and dotting glue (or glue dots) on the front & back to hold the lace in place {it also helps if the lace has a bit of stretch to it so both ends meet nicely}. The ribbon is optional of course, but it’s a nice dash of color along with the RSVP envelope!”

Congrats to Darlene & Colin, who were married labor day weekend, September 5, 2010!  wedding ceremony & reception day photos here!

hand-crafted bridal accessories : crochet diy

Below are 3 of my favorite handmade crochet projects from the first-ever wedding story in the May/June 10 issue of Crochet today! magazine. I have an early copy from the publishing house I freelance for…I really love the layout & their bridal accessory ideas! {thanks ms. k for bringing this article to my attention ;}

You can get started now by going to each project for a preview pattern! Have fun…

paper shown : stardream ruby {eggplant} & quartz + opal envelope

DIY info : darlene found the lace in the fabric district in downtown LA. She purchased around 35 yards & cut each piece to size (per 100). I designed & printed her cards + envelopes then sent the cut pieces for her to assemble.  *this design can be personalized by changing the lace & paper color!

elizabeth’s diy wedding program

{thank you Elizabeth!} She sent me 2 images of her layered ceremony program with lace, which I helped her create… they turned out perfectly unique!

I first designed Elizabeth’s custom wedding map to match her invitation package {map also shown below}. Later she asked me to design & lay out a layered wedding program based on hilary’s design, so she could “DIY”  print, cut & assemble. I love-love the lace, I wonder where she found it in such a large quantity?

I’m super glad Elizabeth found me, I had fun working with her on both wedding projects! 😉
