ee_-1-2

Time is flying by, the 2019 wedding season has already begun but I had to share a few inspirational planning photos from this 2018 southern California Wedding Reception. These photographs by Jason Q Tran are stunning…I was super lucky to be a part of this very talented vendor crew:

A Margarita Toast favor with seating card

Escort tag with favor toast
We combined their wedding favor ‘Margarita Toast’ with the escort tags! These were printed on labels & adhered to straws, which were then attached to each bottle.
Marble Table Number Card
Each framed table number card listed a personal note about the couple.
Marble Cake Menu
I love that the Wedding Cake matches the purple marbled stationery design I created for the couple! The wedding Menus were laid out at each place setting.

2012.10.20 Naomi Evarts & Kevin Hurley Wedding Contract

Thanks to photographer Gustavo Fernández [along with naomi], I’m able to share these wonderful wedding day photos & planning inspiration! I loved customizing my san francisco skyline invitation to complement their venue location (we replaced the bay bridge with the golden gate bridge). They also personalized the metallic paper colors to match their color theme.

OH MY GOSH!  I’m Super excited about the monogram on the cupcakes!! 😉

2012.10.20 Naomi Evarts & Kevin Hurley Wedding Contract

We used Kara’s cupcakes (I’ve always been a huge fan of their cupcakes, so it worked perfectly to have them for our wedding). They will do the custom monogram for $1 per cupcake, and they have those cute six-inch cakes so you can still “cut the cake” but serve your guests cupcakes too. (At one point, our youngest flower girl was storing cupcakes in her flower girl basket) 🙂 ~naomi

I assisted in designing & printing the wedding programs, but Naomi made her own CD wedding favors & escort cards to match!

Everything came together beautifully… and what a gorgeous venue [the Clubhouse at the Presidio Golf Course, San Francisco] and of course, a gorgeous couple! Congrats!

[destination wedding] hawaiian starfish

Aloha! I’ve recently returned from a wonderful & relaxing vacation, all because of kelly & katie… I’m so happy they decided to have a destination wedding in hawaii! They planned mini-events during this fun-filled, wedding weekend for all their family & friends who could make the trip {my personal fave was the catamaran, and of course karaoke night!}.  But, after the Ceremony on the beach, the reception was held at the honolulu zoo = free admission!

I cannot wait to see the photos from their big day {photography by Novalee Photo}.
Below are just a few of my quick shots:

The wedding cake was such a hit {from Paradise Pastries}; not only the adorable hand-sculpted monkey’s, but the palm tree, brown-sugar beach sand & fondant water. Plus, I loved the starfish & sand dollar white chocolates {which complemented their invitation design}.

Everything was so simple yet perfect for their theme; from the entertainment under the white tent on the zoo lawn {hula dancer & ukulele singer > hawaii hula company} to their favors & shell decorations. Also, instead of an actual guest book, I designed a “postcard” tent for their guest signing table… we purchased the vintage hawaii postcards at a local ABC store.

Afterwards, we hiked Waikiki’s Diamond Head… then off to Kauai for a few days {which I highly recommend if you haven’t been yet} 😉

[design inspiration] wedding cake

I love visiting half baked, the cake blog! It’s such a great place to find all kinds of sweet inspiration & ideas {especially the sweet tidbits section}.  For example, these 2 options on styling your Wedding flowers or dress with your wedding cake is a perfect way to tie your theme together…

…which naturally makes me think… from invitation to cake {thus: papercake} 😉

I am one happy gal when I find out my clients decided to add a design or personalized monogram that I created for them onto their cake! {a few of my favorites below}

I’m super thrilled the filigree scroll I designed for their save the date & invitations was added to this gorgeous wedding cake {love the bold, blue color too} by Sweet and Saucy Shop, who also provided the dessert table!  See more inspiration below from their elegant wedding coordinated by sassy girl weddings & photographed by next exit photography!

Congrats to Jessica & Jon, married on June 11, 2011 in Augusta, Georgia!
I’m super happy jessica contacted me last year to design their custom monogram, save the date tickets and wedding invitations (all shown below). I just love how they used their green and ‘J’ theme throughout their ceremony & reception…especially the monogram on the cake + dance floor!  yay!

And thanks to mom, Gwen, who directed me to the wonderful wedding day photos

square pocket wedding Invitation

The full invitation suite was truly unique & colorful, incorporating navy, eggplant & fuchsia. first the save the date cards {I posted these a while ago here}. for the invites we wrapped lace, which kat picked out herself, vertically around the cover of the pocket folder. we also added embellishments like the square name tag to the front cover, and a ghosted swirl graphic on all insert cards.  paper: metallic stardream quartz + iris blue

*reception stationery: I picked up the design from the invitations for the escort & table tents, we even added the fuchsia lace to the table cards {another reason why it’s always good to purchase more yards than you need  😉  I love how all these small details bring together the colors beautifully; linens, flowers, paper & candy bar too!

[wedding planning] my bff is getting married!

My best friend is getting married!!
I’m so excited for kerry & bryan… their big day will be June 18th, 2011 in Santa Fe.

Not only are we now planning the bachelorette/bridal shower weekend in Napa (YAY!), but the wedding planning has begun as well. I wanted to document this process along the way, so please let us know if you have any thoughts or ideas based on her theme. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

design inspiration

wedding theme : I first asked kerry to find some photo inspiration that we could design her theme from (above). The venue will be at a winery in Santa Fe, but he popped the question at the top of a mountain during a hike. Therefore, they chose a hiking theme and will incorporate green, light brown/tan with blue details throughout.

Invitations : below is a quick teaser of the sample invitation package we’ve designed so far;
2-layer horizontal invite with custom illustration, a pocket in the back for RSVP postcard & additional enclosure cards {we used leaf & cement papers via paper-source.}

custom invitation teaser

bridesmaid dress : we first picked out a few dress styles that we each liked for a summer outdoor wedding. The Bari Jay dress (shown below on the left) was my first pick, love the sage chiffon dress wrapped in matching Charmeuse! We are obviously best buddies for a reason because we both picked out the same dress from After Six via the Dessy Group (right), although, we each chose a different dress color and trim {a very fun style when you can play with the sash/trim colors!} hmm, now to decide which is the winner! votes?

bridesmaid dresses

wedding cake : love these hiking/mountain themed cakes! Hopefully they can find a local baker who can add a few details from both designs to their custom cake {personally I think the hard part will be deciding on flavors!}

hiking wedding cakes

wedding flowers : this is “my” floral bouquet inspiration based on kerry’s colors + santa fe seasonal flowers…I believe she mentioned adding a splash of dark red somewhere in the color scheme? maybe the flowers?!

…to be continued…
